About Us

NOTE:  At the present time, membership in the Ontario Tourism Network is closed. Until further notice, no new members are being accepted.

THE ONTARIO TOURISM NETWORK is a comprehensive co-operative marketing organization representing over 90 selected accommodations, attractions, restaurants, festivals and special events throughout Ontario. Founded in 1995 to assist group tour operators with their itinerary planning, the OTN produces an annual Group Tour Manual full of helpful information on group travel in Ontario. By dividing the province into 12 easy-to-understand tourism regions, the manual provides detailed, ready-to-use itineraries and supplier listings which simplify the tour operator's task.

The concept for a regional tourism marketing network was developed in Vermont over 12 years ago. Since then, it has grown to an affiliation of seven organizations operating under an umbrella known as The Networks of North America. With representation in Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Southern New England, Quebec, Vermont, and Ontario, each Network's purpose is to simplify tour planning for group operators by providing creative tour itineraries in a ready-to-use format at attractive net rates. These manuals are a recognized and invaluable source of planning information for tour planners.

Janice Ketchen, Founder and President of the Ontario Tourism Network, has an extensive background in the group travel industry. As the Director of Marketing & Sales for CANTOURS, Inc., one of Ontario's largest inbound receptive tour operators, she has developed contacts with U.S. tour operators through her attendance at trade shows and marketplaces hosted by such organizations as the National Tour Association, the American Bus Association, the Bus Association of New York, the Pennsylvania Bus Association and the Ontario Motor Coach Association. She received the Certified Travel Industry Specialist designation from the American Bus Association in December, 1994.

Ms. Ketchen's first-hand experience in the motorcoach industry includes over 10 years of service as a tour director with a number of Ontario-based tour operators. She also presents full-day educational seminars entitled "How to Attract the Group Tour Market" and is a trainer for the Ontario SuperHost customer service program.

Tour operators and group organizers who are looking for creative, customized tour itineraries for groups of 15 or more travelling to Ontario or Quebec can contact CANTOURS, Inc., a Toronto-based receptive operator, at www.cantours.com. The friendly CANTOURS planners will be happy to assist tour operators and travel planners with their group programs.
